City of St. Joseph is Hiring an Equipment Operator 2 Near Joseph, MO
- OPERATES equipment including but not limited to street sweeper, dump truck, high loader, pothole patching truck, tractor mower, flusher truck, compressor, jackhammer, crack seal kettle and snow removal equipment.
- OPERATES machinery, saws, routers, air compressor and other assorted tools.
- TRANSPORTS and SHOVELS asphalt.
- TRANSPORTS equipment and workers and hauls materials.
- OPERATES jack hammer.
- RESPONDS to emergencies as needed, including plowing and salting during winter storms, sandbagging during floods, brush removal following wind and ice storms, sometimes with little or no notice.

City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest, and respectful.
- VALID Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement required.
- REQUIRED to be on-call and/or carry a pager and RESPOND to emergencies as needed.
- SKILLS in the safe and efficient operation of equipment and machinery used in the construction and maintenance of roadways.
- ABILITY to follow instructions and perform tasks with minimum supervision.
- KNOWLEDGE of general street maintenance and repair procedures.
